ALLOWED:
ANY OBJECT IN VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL BE REMOVED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CEMETERY PERSONNEL.
NO LITTERING OR GARBAGE DUMPING IS PERMITTED. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.
Additionally, please adhere to our published Rules & Regulations which are essential to efficient maintenance of the Cemetery. Please refrain from putting any mulch around the graves and headstones. This has become a problem as it infringes on neighboring graves. No objects, plants, etc should be placed in the back of any headstones as the back of one headstone/grave is the front of another grave belonging to someone else.
Thank you.
The Cemetery Staff will conduct a "Spring Clean-Up" each year. At that time, debris and other materials resulting from the winter weather will be collected and removed. At the appropriate time, the grounds will be surveyed and any damage to trees or grass will be addressed.
In as much as the grounds of the Cemetery are open to the public on a daily basis, Saint Joseph's Cemetery cannont be responsible for the removal of any items placed on the gravesites or for damage that may occur to any gravestones
If damage occurs, please contact the office at 914-232-2910, so the proper authorities can be notified.
All full body graves are double depth in size and are suitable for only 2 full body burials. A vault or liner is required for each burial unless deemed not appropriate because of space. In the event a family would like to have Cremains buried in a full body grave, the regulation is as follows; Since the graves are double depth, the first grave must be a full body, however the second grave is permitted to have up to two cremated remains buried in Urns, in place of the second full body burial.
The cremation section, "Section 5" allows for up to three urns in each grave.
Headstones and military markers are permitted. Size requirements vary depending on the burial section and MUST be approved in writing by the Cemetery office PRIOR to purchase. The cemetery will provide, at additional cost, a foundation for all headstones.
