Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's Church,
My name is Michael Cuiffo. I am a Senior at Kennedy Catholic High School and a parishioner of St Joseph's since birth. I am currently working toward my Eagle Scout rank in Somers Troop 376. Part of this process requires me to complete a project for members of the community.
For my project I have built 3 altars for the three Nursing homes that the Priests of St Joseph's serve Mass at. They have already been delivered to Waterview Nursing home, Salem Hills, and
Somers Manor.
On March 26th at 1:00pm in the Parish Center, I will be hosting a Spaghetti Lunch as a fundraiser for my Eagle Scout Project. If you can not attend, we also have take out (while supplies last) to accommodate. Of course, ANY donation is greatly appreciated. The suggested donation to attend the Spaghetti Lunch is $10.
I chose this project because this parish and all of you have helped me grow as a person in so many ways. Between being a 1st grade CCD teacher for 4 years, and an Altar Server for 8, I have grown so strong in my Catholic faith which was only made possible through our wonderful Church. This project meant that I could make residents at the Nursing homes feel a much stronger connection to God during Mass because previously, they celebrated our Lord's sacrifice on old folding card tables.
I hope you will attend and may God bless you!
Sincerely,
Michael Cuiffo
